Role: Youth Worker
Location: Moreton Bay Region (Caboolture, Redcliffe, Deception Bay and surrounds)
Employment Type: Permanent Part Time
As a Youth Worker in our Towards Ending Homelessness for Young Queenslanders service, you will support young people to build safety, stability and independence. Working in home and community settings, you will assist with daily routines, practical tasks, behaviour support and life skills while providing consistent guidance and encouragement.
You will build strong, trusting relationships and respond in a trauma informed way, helping young people stay engaged in housing, education, health and community supports that promote long term stability and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with young people, providing consistent support and engagement
- Assist young people to access and maintain safe and stable accommodation
- Provide day to day support including routines, transport, and practical assistance to build stability and independence
- Develop independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, personal care and household responsibilities
- Encourage participation in education, employment and community supports that strengthen long term stability and connection
- Work as part of a team to provide trauma informed support, respond to behaviour appropriately and complete required documentation in line with plans and procedures
Skills & Experience
- Hold, or be actively working towards a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or similar qualification
- Experience supporting young people, ideally those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Ability to support young people with daily routines and skill development, responding to behaviour using observation, problem solving and de-escalation strategies
- Demonstrated understanding of trauma informed practice, attachment and child development and their impact on behaviour and engagement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with ability to consistently follow care plans, policies and therapeutic frameworks
- Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide CPR (HLTAID009) certificate/s
- Queensland Driver’s Licence
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
