About the Role

Employment Type: Permanent, Part-time (3 days per week) contract with flexibility to chose non-working days.

Location: Port Augusta


In this role, you will provide both individual and group support to reduce harms associated with alcohol and other drug use. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments and providing a variety of evidence-based counselling interventions to help clients address harmful behaviours.

Working in partnership with individuals, you will also support them to build the skills and resilience needed to manage challenges related to Alcohol and Other Drug use, while fostering recovery and encouraging positive life changes


Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV or higher in Alcohol and Other Drugs or equivalent
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in counselling using a range of intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches for supporting individuals with substance abuse issues
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and written skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Capacity to build networks, work independently and in teams, and apply initiative with strong problem-solving skills


Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
