About the Role 

We are seeking skilled and experienced Disability Support Workers, to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. You will support people with disability living in shared housing, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.   

The people you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be confident in working within a varied environment which may include behaviours of concern, high medical needs, high intensity daily personal activities and hoisting and manual handling. 

The successful candidate must have flexibility to be able to commit a variety of casual shifts which may include short shifts, sleepovers and short notice shifts across 24/7 rosters.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans 
  • Provide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activities 
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities 
  • Maintain thorough record keeping 
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues 
  • Advocate for client choice and control 

Skills & Experience 

  • Cert IV in Disability
  • Experience working with people with disability 
  • Previous experience working behaviours of concern 
  • Confidence in driving a wheelchair van 
  • Manual Handling and Hoisting experience 
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence 
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
