About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.  

We have multiple casual positions available across our Lifestyles & Supported Living programs, supporting people with disabilities living in the community in Alice Springs.

Working in a team, you will be actively supporting their individual complex needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate way. To provide the best support you will be an experienced Disability Support Worker with a range of experience across social support, behaviour support, personal care, complex health needs, manual handling and hoisting.

Our clients in Alice Springs enjoy arts & crafts, gardening, dancing, music and engaging in community and culture.

These roles will require successful applicants to be available and willing to work within a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide active person-centred support
  • Follow behaviour support plans
  • Promote client goals through enjoyable activities
  • Provide personal care
  • Ensure safe manual handling and hoisting

 Skills & Experience

  • Personal Care experience
  • Previous experience working with people with complex health needs
  • Experience with behaviours of concern and following behaviour support plans
  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • Sound understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues affecting Aboriginal people.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and hold NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
