About the Role
As an Activity Coordinator you will be responsible for the day-today running of our Senior Day Centre in Capalaba. Your focus will be on developing and facilitating the centre’s activity program in line with client needs, funding requirements and compliance standards.
You will create engaging, inclusive and innovative programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing for our Aged Care clients. We are looking for someone who is proactive and can think outside the box, bring a fresh approach and build the program into something special. You will deliver a diverse calendar of activities, such as fish and chips by the water, going to the movies, gentle exercise and creative arts.
This is a permanent Full Time position working from our Day Centre in Capalaba. This is an exciting opportunity for the ideal candidate to take ownership of the role and accelerate their career growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a calendar of activities that are stimulating and keep our clients active
- Tailor activities to meet the mobility and cognitive needs of our clients
- Ensure all risk and compliance standards are met and well documented
- Work in alignment with funding guidelines to ensure programs meet relevant standards and expectations
- Collaborate with clients to hear their interests and feedback, while also maintaining a strong program direction and purpose
- Support the growth of the service with the goal of becoming a 5 day per week centre
Skills & Experience
- Qualification in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy or similar, or relevant similar experience
- A passion for and experience working with older adults
- Strong understanding of compliance, risk assessment and safety planning
- Ability to effectively build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong communication skills and confidence in facilitating activities in a group setting
- Confidence in utilising a variety of technology including mobile devices and computers
- A current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence, reliable vehicle and a willingness to travel
