About the Role
Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team, you will provide support 2 people with disability living in shared housing in Mascot who enjoy cooking, having a chat and going out for walks around their local neighbourhood.
The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting people with psychosocial disability and will be passionate about and ready to be involved in active support.
We are seeking applications from candidates for permanent part time positions only. To be considered, you must be able to commit to one of the set rosters below:
- 61 hours per fortnight
- Week 1: Mon 7am-12pm, Tue 7-11am, Wed 2-7pm, Fri 2-6pm, Sat 7am-5pm and Sun 9am-6pm
- Week 2: Tue, Wed and Thu 5pm – 9am (Sleepover shifts)
- 56 hours per fortnight
- Week 1: Mon 2-6pm, Tue 2-7pm, Fri 6pm – 9am (sleepover shift), Sat 5pm-9am (sleepover shift) and Sun 5pm – 11 am (sleepover shift)
- Week 2: Wed and Thu 7-11am, Fri 7am – 12pm and Sat 9am – 6pm
- 56 hours per fortnight:
- Week 1: Wed and Thu 7-11am, Fri 7am-12pm and Sat 9am – 6pm
- Week 2: Mon 2-6pm, Tue 2-7pm, Fri 6pm -9am (sleepover shift), Sat 5pm-9am (sleepover shift) and Sun 5pm – 11 am (sleepover shift)
Key Responsibilities
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
Skills & Experience
- Experience working with people with disability
- Passionate about providing active support
- Previous experience working with mental health or psychosocial disabilities
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
