About the Role

This newly created position reports to the Executive Director, Strategy & Risk and presents an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader to step into the role of National Manager, Workforce Planning and Rostering Child, Youth and Family (CYF) role. This pivotal role is key to driving high quality, efficient and client centred care services across our Child, Youth & Family Directorate.

You will lead the implementation and management of a best practice Workforce Planning and Rostering Hub, overseeing a geographically dispersed 24/7 workforce. With a focus on strategic workforce planning, sustainability, compliance and care outcomes, you will champion the adoption of a new roster platform and workforce management processes across multiple jurisdictions in the directorate.

This role blends office and remote work, offering flexibility to work from your preferred location, whether from home or one of our local LWB offices. While most of the work can be done remotely, some travel including interstate travel and office attendance will be required.

About You

You are a proven leader with a strong background in workforce planning and rostering, ideally within complex care or 24/7 service environments. You bring a strategic mindset, analytical strength and operational rigour, combined with empathy, adaptability and a strong commitment to care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a centralised Workforce Planning & Rostering Hub that supports LWB's strategic goals and client first approach.
  • Oversee and enhance rostering functions to ensure workforce optimisation, cost efficiency, compliance with awards and agreements and alignment with client care needs.
  • Partner with Client Services leaders to develop master rosters and workforce forecasts that align with service levels, funding allocations  and employee wellbeing.
  • Drive change management, continuous improvement and strategic planning to embed new processes, systems and tools.
  • Monitor workforce KPIs, develop insights and analytics and provide reporting to inform decisions that improve client services and workforce health.
  • Lead a high-performing team, driving consistency, innovation, and collaboration across multiple sites.

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Business / Human Resource Management/Health)
  • Extensive experience in senior workforce planning and rostering leadership roles, including multi-site management.
  • Proven capability in implementing and managing rostering technology solutions and workforce management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, deliver continuous improvement initiatives and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High-level strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative, values-based leadership style aligned with LWB’s mission and culture.
  • Strong understanding of industrial relations frameworks, awards, contracts and WHS requirements.
