                              Role: Therapeutic Youth Worker (Residential)

                              Employment Type: Permanent Part Time & Casual

                              Location:  Wollongong & surrounds 

In these roles, you’ll support young people aged 12–17 who’ve experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. Some may have also disabilities or complex medical needs requiring specialised support and/or personal care.

You’ll work within a dedicated team to create a safe, homelike environment where young people can build independence, develop problem-solving skills, and form positive relationships.

Our residential homes operate 24/7, so applicants must be available for regular afternoon, sleepover, and weekend shifts. Only candidates who can meet this requirement will be considered.

Role requirements:

  • Hold or be working toward a Diploma qualification or higher in Community Services (or a related field), or have relevant experience and be willing to complete the Diploma through LWB. Note: A qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
  • A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate.
  • Experience supporting children, young people, and/or people with disabilities, ideally in a residential care setting.
  • Awareness of trauma informed care and possess the skills to implement this when supporting children and young people.
  • A current, unrestricted Australian drivers licence. 
  • Willingness to assist with daily living activities, including personal care where

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
