                    Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

                    Location: Wollongong region

In this role, you’ll work alongside a Case Manager and Therapeutic Specialist to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment for children and young people in residential care.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting and mentoring staff, and helping children and young people to develop essential life skills, stay engaged in education, and maintain meaningful connections with family, community, and support networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home in line with the CARE model, relevant legislation, service standards and LWB policies and procedures
  • Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
  • Be a visible and supportive leader in the home, offering guidance and role modelling for your team
  • Oversee and implement therapeutic care plans to support the wellbeing of children and young people
  • Guide your team in applying Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
  • Provide reflective supervision and mentoring to staff, fostering a strong, supportive team culture

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field (desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
  • Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people, such as out-of-home care (OOHC) and Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) settings
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, complex health needs, or behaviours of concern
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise a team, embedding therapeutic care practices
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) 
  • A Current & Unrestricted driver’s licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register checks
