About the Role
We are looking for a casual Community Support Worker to join our Individualised Community Living Strategy (ICLS) program providing outreach support to a person accessing the service in the Harvey area. This is a 12 month-maximum term contract. Flexible shifts available, minimum 10 hours per week.
The service is for clients with a mental health diagnosis who are eligible for a support package. The role of the Community Support Worker is to help the client access their local services and maximise their recovery success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated support to one male client with a mental health diagnosis, focusing on his recovery and community living goals
- Coach and encourage independence through daily routines and decision-making
- Assist with cooking, cleaning, and home upkeep, empowering the client to take control of their daily living
- Encourage community access and engagement in local activities
- Support capacity building and self-management of lifestyle and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with clinical and mental health support teams
- Follow and contribute to individualised support plans
Skills & Experience
- Certificate IV in Community Services or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously with people with mental illness or psycho-social disability
- Passionate about client outcomes and mental health advocacy
- High computer literacy and administration skills
- An unrestricted Western Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
