This role offers a high level of flexibility, with a significant proportion of work conducted from home (or your local office if preferred), balanced by regular in-person engagement with the children, young people and carers you support.
This role supports children and young people in out-of-home care across Dubbo, NSW.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to trauma-informed care planning, behaviour support, and placement matching to promote safety, stability, and healing. You’ll engage with carers, families, and professionals to assess needs and guide therapeutic interventions tailored to each child’s circumstances.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and contributing to therapeutic formulations
- Developing and reviewing behaviour support plans
- Supporting placement matching and transitions
- Participating in care team meetings and case reviews
- Providing written reports and clinical recommendations
- Offering consultation and guidance to carers and staff
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or other related discipline.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the professional body relevant to your qualification.
- Experience using evidence-based assessment tools with young people with trauma informed behaviour
- Ability to develop and promote positive person-centred behaviour supports
- Current Driver’s Licence
You will benefit from regular individual and group supervision, reflective practice, and a supportive team culture that values shared learning and evidence-informed approaches. Our statewide model offers connection with a network of clinicians and opportunities to contribute to service development.
