About the Role
Provide one-on-one support to young people living with disability in their homes or out in the community. This role involves working short, split shifts and requires a caring, dedicated approach to supporting young individuals living with complex needs.
Shift times:
Weekly Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 7am to 9am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm
Fortnightly Saturday: 10am to 2pm
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to young people with their daily personal care tasks and domestic assistance including meal preparation, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and empowered
- Foster a nurturing and positive environment that helps the young people we support feel understood and valued whether it be during community outings, social activities, or appointments
- Follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and encouraging in challenging or emotionally sensitive situations
- Build meaningful, trusting relationships with children and their families
Skills & Experience
- Experience working with young people who display behaviours of concern and complex trauma is essential
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence
- Committed to work flexible hours across the week, including public holidays
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
