About the Role

Oversee the delivery of Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle Support services in the Toowoomba area. Lead a team of Disability Support Workers to ensure that the people we support are receiving high-quality care to live their best lives.

This is a Permanent Full-Time position for a candidate based in the Toowoomba area. You will utilise your local Toowoomba connections and knowledge to support the growth of our disability services in this region. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and will be proactive and motivated to make a difference in their local Toowoomba community. This is a hybrid opportunity where you can work some of your days each week from home, with an on-call component and occasional shift work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Disability Support Workers
  • Ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery of disability services and ensuring active support of clients
  • Facilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and supporters
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, ensuring national consistency in delivering a positive service
  • Manage, monitor, and report on incidents and complaints
  • Advocate for clients in relation to Human Rights with a sound understanding of Restrictive Practices
  • Participate in a rotating on call roster

Skills & Experience

  • Previous leadership experience with strong knowledge of the delivery of services to people with a disability
  • Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of NDIS funding
  • Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Established influencing and negotiation skills
  • A passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
  • Ability to think creatively and use initiative

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and an NDIS Workers Screening Check.
