About the role

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Risk and Resilience. You will be a key member of the Risk and Resilience Unit (RRU) and a core member of National Emergency Management Team, establishing a centre for excellence in LWB to harness capability and capacity to manage new and emerging risks and effectively respond and recover from immediate and extended disasters, emergencies and significant business disruption, and impacts of climate change.

You will be part of a team working collaboratively to engage and partner with the business, to coach, advise and guide Managers and operational leaders to effectively implement risk management, business continuity and emergency management initiatives across the organisation.

This is a permanent, full time position, location flexible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise and advice across the organisation partnering with the business to embed fit for purpose risk management frameworks, policy, systems and processes.
  • Facilitate risk workshops to support the business in maintaining accurate and timely identification, management and escalation of existing, new and emerging risks, themes and trends.
  • Facilitate business impact analysis workshops across the business to support the business to have appropriate plans in place to respond and recover from business disruptions, disaster and emergencies.
  • Deliver ongoing Covid-19 support activities and maintain awareness and understanding of potential pandemic and public health scenarios.
  • Support the business to implement and embed LWB’s Risk Empowerment initiatives.
  • Design and deliver risk and resilience training programs and coaching tools for LWB employees on all aspects of risk, business continuity and emergency management.
  • Challenge and monitor the effectiveness of risk mitigations strategies across the organisation’s portfolio of risk and develop a fit for purpose suite of reports.
  • Maintain the national risk management system, data and reporting tools and provide system administration support.
  • Facilitate the annual review and update of LWB risk management framework to continually improve LWB’s risk management procedures, guides and supporting tools.
  • Provide expertise and advice across the organisation partnering with the business to embed of fit for purpose resilience frameworks for business continuity and emergency management.
  • Keep abreast of best practice, global, national and industry specific emerging risk and resilience trends.
  • Maintain risk, business continuity and emergency response data and systems to ensure currency for timely reporting.

 Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualifications in business, risk management, business continuity or relevant field.
  • Significant experience in Risk Management and / or Business Continuity / Emergency Management, at an enterprise, strategic or operational level.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and monitoring fit for purpose risk management and business continuity frameworks and programs across a multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in seeking and understanding end user business requirements and translate into effective and efficient solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and delivering high quality outcomes within agreed timelines.
  • Experience in embedding organisation wide change in an agile environment and managing relationships with stakeholders to get results.
  • The ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government agencies.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills for the creation of reports, correspondence, presentations and other material.
  • Proficient ability in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
