About the Role

We are seeking an organised, proactive, and high-performing all-rounder as our new Program Assistant in Alice Springs.  As Program Assistant, you will  provide general administrative support to the Disability team, including answering and directing phone calls, document management (including archiving), directing client enquiries, calendar management, and working closely with our Disability Support Leaders.  You will also partner with our national support teams in Fleet, ICT and Property, coordinating local aspects of fleet movement and maintenance, client property set up and office ICT support. This is a full time, permanent role based in Alice Springs, reporting to the Director of Disability, Mental Health, NT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the leadership team in uplift of documentation and processes, to improve quality of service delivery and compliance
  • Assist in the delivery of programs that facilitate service user’s development of social networks and inclusion in community activities.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and provide role modelling and on the job support.
  • As appropriate or as requested attend internal and external stakeholder meetings.
  • Attend, participate and contribute to team meetings and supervision.

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or previous relevant experience
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with service users, their families and/or groups from a strength-based culturally appropriate perspective to achieve positive outcomes
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritise in a busy environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated experience in managing sensitive information and maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to use initiative in supporting service users, support workers and the broader leadership team 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NT Child Protection Check and Working With Children Check.
