About the role

As a Contract & Funding Officer in the Contract Management team for Child, Youth & Families, you will work closely with the Care teams supporting vulnerable children and young people across NSW. Your role will involve maximising funding opportunities, ensuring service delivery meets contract and compliance requirements, and promoting positive outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

In addition, you will be responsible for submitting funding applications to the relevant agencies to ensure service costs are covered under our contractual agreements.

This position is offered as a Full Time, Maximum Term contract until mid April 2026. 

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively work with stakeholders to identify financial deficits and respond to funding opportunities.
  • Complete and submit high quality written funding applications for children and young people in out-of-home care, building compelling cases for the need for additional funding.
  • Ensure that the funding attributed to placements covers the cost of providing services through financial analysis and engagement with the Care teams.
  • Support staff with other application-based process’ and record keeping tasks, as related to the Permanency Support Program, complying to policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide internal support to teams to understand contractual requirements and opportunities.
  • Report on funding outcomes; other project and data remediation tasks as required.

 Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in writing business cases, grant writing, or experience within the Out-of-Home Care Sector, highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a similar role understanding financial, funding and/or contract requirements.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a fluid and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing sensitive information and keeping a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities whilst delivering high quality outcomes.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Teams. Intermediate to advance use of excel, and a quick learner on bespoke systems will be highly regarded.
