About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability on the Central Coast. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to cover shifts at short notice including sick leave and annual leave coverage and may also include a variety of day, afternoon and sleepover shifts ensuring that our support is available whenever it's needed most
- Provide support for clients facing mental health challenges, high behaviours of concern, complex needs, and significant medical requirements
- Work with clients who require assistance with personal care tasks, such as bathing and dressing, as well as manual handling to ensure safe mobility
- Implement person-centred active support and behaviour support plans, advocating for client choice and autonomy while ensuring safety and compliance in all interaction
- Maintain accurate and detailed records to track and document the changing needs of clients, ensuring thorough communication and continuity of care
Skills & Experience
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
