About the role

We are seeking candidates to support our Aged Care clients to remain living independently in their own homes through the provision of basic domestic assistance and personal care support across Katherine.

Working in a team, you will be actively supporting their individual complex needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate way. 

You will help our clients remain living independently at home between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm assisting various clients throughout the day.  We have flexible casual positions available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light cleaning
  • Personal Care including grooming and showering
  • Community access to medical appointments and social activities
  • Assistance with tasks and routines outlined by an approved medical professional
  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients to establish positive relationships

Skills & Experience

  • A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Certificate III in Individual Support or other relevant qualification and experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • Passionate about making a positive impact in our ageing community

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
