About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker you will be dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals in your local Toowoomba community. We have Casual positions available with flexible hours where you will provide active, person centred support to people with disabilities. Successful candidates will have availability to work a range of shifts across a 24/7 roster, including sleepover shifts and weekends. You will work shifts across multiple sites in both our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle programs.

Candidates with experience working in individual care, managing challenging behaviours and with mobility skills (transferring and use of hoist) are highly desired.


Key Responsibilities

  • Community access and transport
  • Maintain and monitor Person Centred Plans
  • Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough record-keeping
  • Establish positive relationships with the people we support and their families


Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from Diverse Cultural Backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
  • Prior experience in the industry supporting clients with disability and/or relevant qualifications
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and ownership of a registered vehicle
  • Willingness to travel between clients homes
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
