About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in the Ballina area, supporting them to continue living independently in their own homes.

You will travel between multiple clients homes within Ballina and surrounding suburbs (between Byron Bay to Casino), so ability to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per KM travelled while you are working).

We have permanent part-time and casual opportunities available with shifts offered throughout the week. Applicants must be available to work across a flexible range of daytime shifts times, however there are no weekend or sleepover shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • The majority of the role involves domestic duties which may include but are not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing
  • Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing
  • Transportation and community access to medical appointments and social activities
  • Provide support with daily tasks and routines including meal preparation
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and their families


Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or relevant industry experience
  • Experience of working with those with dementia is desirable but not essential
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
