                Role: Carer Ambassador
                Location:  Kalgoorlie & Goldfields
                Employment Type: Casual

As a Carer Ambassador, you’ll use your own fostering experience to raise awareness of foster care and connect with people in the local community who may be considering becoming a foster carer.

You’ll build relationships with community groups, businesses and local networks, attend events and information sessions, and support prospective carers with honest, helpful information about the fostering journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent Life Without Barriers as a positive and engaging brand ambassador for foster care.
• Identify and attend local events and community activities to promote foster care and attract new carers.
• Build relationships with community groups, businesses, schools, sporting clubs and councils to increase awareness and create carer attraction opportunities.
• Engage with and follow up prospective carers, providing clear information and supporting them to consider whether fostering is right for them.
• Support foster carer information sessions and pre-approval training.
• Maintain accurate records of prospective carer enquiries and engagement activities and contribute to local carer attraction initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• At least 2 years’ fostering experience, including a minimum of 1 year with Life Without Barriers, with a demonstrated commitment to providing quality care.
• Understanding of the needs and experiences of children and young people in foster care, and the role of carers in supporting them.
• Experience building positive relationships with carers, families and community groups.
• Strong verbal communication skills and confidence engaging with a diverse range of people.
• Ability to have open, honest and sometimes challenging conversations.
• Current Driver Licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
