About the Role
Join our team as a Permanent Part-Time Disability Support Worker in Chifley, supporting people with a diverse range of needs in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) program. You will provide quality care through daily living activities, mealtime support, appointment assistance and community access, and the ongoing support of health and medical needs.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help you will help ensure a safe, supportive, and dignified environment for the people we support.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
- Provide support with a range of daily personal activities
- Maintain thorough record keeping
- Build positive relationships with the people we support, families and colleagues
- Advocate for client choice and control
- Assist with peg feeding and catheter care, focusing on comfort and safety, with training available for those new to the tasks
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting people with high physical support needs and complex care requirements
- Previous experience working in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) or group home environment is preferred
- Manual Handling and hoisting experience
- Confidence in driving a large wheelchair van
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
