About the Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant you will provide personalised home care support to older Australians in Newcastle, helping them continue to live independently in their own homes.

You will travel between multiple clients homes across Newcastle and surrounding suburbs, so a willingness to travel is essential (you will be reimbursed $1.01 per KM travelled while you are working).

We have casual opportunities available with shifts available Monday to Friday. No evening or overnight shifts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Domestic duties which may include but are not limited to: vacuuming, mopping, washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, emptying bins, washing/ironing
  • Personal care inclusive of showering, daily hygiene, monitoring of health and wellbeing
  • Transportation and community access to medical appointments and social activities
  • Provide support with daily tasks and routines
  • Build positive relationships with clients and their families


Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Ageing Support or similar
  • An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
