Role: House Manager - Intensive Therapeutic Care (Significant Disabilities)

In this role, you’ll work alongside a Case Manager and Therapeutic Specialist to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment for children and young people in residential care.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting and mentoring staff, and young people to develop essential life skills, stay engaged in education, and maintain meaningful connections with family, community, and support networks.
The Glenwood team support support two young people aged 13 - 16 years old. Their interests include a love of Pokémon, scooter riding, horse riding and all things celebrities. Our ideal candidate must have experience connecting with young people who have received a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Experience helping young people who display pain-based behaviours is essential. Above all, the ideal candidate will bring a calm and considered approach to their work and enjoy leading a team of experienced and dedicated therapeutic youth workers.
This position is offered as a permanent full-time opportunity working Mondays (allocated as an admin day) 9am – 5pm, with Tuesdays to Fridays supporting the team on the floor from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Start and finish times can be negotiated with the right candidate. There will be an on-call requirement with an on-call allowance payable in line with the SCHADS award.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the home in line with the CARE model, relevant legislation, service standards and LWB policies and procedures
- Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential setting
- Be a visible and supportive leader in the home, offering guidance and role modelling for your team
- Oversee and implement therapeutic care plans to support the wellbeing of children and young people
- Guide your team in applying Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques
- Provide reflective supervision and mentoring to staff, fostering a strong, supportive team culture
Skills & Experience
- Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field (desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience)
- Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people, such as out-of-home care (OOHC) and Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) settings
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, complex health needs, or behaviours of concern
- Proven ability to lead and supervise a team, embedding therapeutic care practices
- Current First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)
- A Current & Unrestricted driver’s licence
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register checks
