About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disabilities in Orange. We are currently recruiting for our Lifestyle (LS) and Supported Independent Living (SIL) programs.
SIL is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Lifestyle supports are one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to work independently supporting clients with daily personal care such as bathing, shaving and toileting
- Provide mobility assistance by lifting, transferring and hoisting clients
- Ability to follow person-centred active support plans and behaviour support plans respectfully
- Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keeping
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families and your team
- Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant
Skills & Experience
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Committed to work flexible work hours across the week, including public holidays
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
