                      Role: Child, Youth & Family Support Worker
                      Employment Type: Casual
                      Location: Goulburn region

In this role you will, work directly with children and young people in their home or the community, providing care, support, and guidance. You’ll help with daily routines, personal care, meals, homework, and activities, while building trust and supporting confidence, life skills, and social connections.

You’ll also work closely with families and other team member, using trauma informed and therapeutic approaches to help children navigate challenges and transitions. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels heard, valued, and empowered. Shifts available are primarily during the day times and on weekends, typically varying in length from 3 to 7 hours depending on client need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day care, supervision, and transport for children and young people.
  • Support skill development, independence, and confidence through activities.
  • Build and maintain professional, nurturing relationships.
  • Implement and monitor individual care plans.
  • Support children and young people in developing social skills.
  • Maintain progress notes and contribute to reporting.

Skills & Experience:

  • Hold, or actively working toward, a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
  • Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic care models and trauma-informed practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • Completion of Top-Up Units in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (CHCMHS007, CHCPRT009, CHCCS009, CHCPRT010) or willingness to complete within 6 months.
  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, VIC Working with Children Check and registration on the VIC Residential Carer Workers register (WCES)
