                             Role: Residential Support Worker

                             Employment Type:  Casual

                             Location:  North West

In this role, you’ll work within a supportive team to provide a safe, homelike environment where children and young people can develop independence, manage emotions, strengthen problem solving skills and reconnect with education and community.

Our residential homes operate 24/7, so applicants must be available and willing to work a variety of shifts (including afternoons, overnights and weekends)

Responsibilities

  • Support young people to achieve goals in Individual Case Plans
  • Promote independence and build community connections
  • Encourage and support young people’s interests
  • Build rapport and collaborate to achieve positive outcomes
  • Manage behavioural escalations and assist with emotional regulation
  • Support development of daily living skills
  • Communicate with the care team and report incidents promptly
  • Administer medication when required
  • Maintain progress notes and records

Role Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work or similar is preferred.
  • Experience with young people who have experienced trauma, neglect, or behaviours of concern
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates
  • Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, and TAS Working with Vulnerable People check.
