About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.

We are currently looking to fill 3 permanent part time positions. Please list your preferred line in your application. You must be available to fulfill all shifts in that line:

Line 1

Week 1

Monday 2:30pm to 7:30pm

Thursday 11:30pm to 9am (active overnight)

Week 2

Tuesday 2pm to 4:30pm

Thursday 4:30pm to 9:30am (active overnight)

Saturday 4:30pm to 11:30pm

Sunday 2:30pm to 6:30am (sleepover)

Line 2

Week 1

Monday 3pm to 11:30pm

Tuesday 3pm to 11:30pm

Wednesday 3pm to 11:30pm

Thursday 4:30pm to 9:30am (sleepover)

Week 2

Monday 11:30pm to 9am (sleepover)

Tuesday 11:30pm to 9am (sleepover)

Saturday 7am to 4:30pm

Sunday 7am to 2:30pm

Line 3

Week 1

Monday 2:30pm to 4:30pm

Wednesday 4:30pm to 9:30am (sleepover)

Week 2

Monday 4:30pm to 9:30am (sleepover)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a tech-loving client by integrating iPads and other digital tools into daily routines
  • Use technology to creatively enhance communication, recreation, and client-led supports
  • Confidently support clients with complex needs, including physical and verbal behaviours of concern
  • Follow behaviour management and meal time management plans
  • Full personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing and grooming
  • Encourage community participation which may include 1 on 1 support within the community

Skills & Experience

  • Experience supporting behaviours of concern and/or complex needs
  • Ability to drive a large van for client transportation
  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
