About the role
Provide personalised coaching and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers, focusing on skill development and best practices, while overseeing the operations of Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes within the Mudgee area. The role involves a 7 day every 6 weeks on-call component as well as occasional travel and shift work.
The successful candidate will have leadership experience and an understanding of the disability sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of resilience and adaptability with a focus on proactive leadership
- Lead and coordinate high-volume service operations for 5 clients in Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, ensuring 24/7 support delivery
- Maintain clear role distinctions and provide decisive leadership to a team of 30 Disability Support Workers
- Effectively manage crisis situations and complex behavioural incidents, with a strong understanding of positive behaviour support and restrictive practices
- Encourage staff competency in active support and complex client care through coaching and mentoring
- Act as a key liaison with families, navigating complex care dynamics with professionalism
- Work across teams and regions to maintain service alignment with organisational standards
- Balance competing demands while ensuring completion of mandatory reporting, compliance, risk management, and resource optimisation
Skills & Experience
- Previous leadership experience within the delivery of services to people with disability
- Experience in supporting clients with complex care needs and high behaviours
- Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
- Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Established influencing and negotiation skills
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative whilst utilising leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
