About the role
As Area Manager, you will lead a team of Case Managers and Manager Caseworks to ensure quality, evidence-based support is provided to meet the safety and wellbeing of Children and Young People, their families and carers within our care.
You’ll play a key role in the delivery of service provide meaningful contribution to the development and execution of services delivered by Life Without Barriers.
This is a Permanent Full Time position, based from either our Gosford or Newcastle office, with hybrid working arrangements also offered. Regular travel throughout the Central Coast & Lake Macquarie region is a requirement, and an annualised vehicle allowance is included in the remuneration package.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead our family based care team to achieve safety, wellbeing, and permanency goals for children and young people in care.
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of services to drive quality outcomes for children, young people, families and carers.
- Provide coaching, supervision, and development opportunities to team members.
- Ensure the local area adheres to budget, policies, regulations, and service standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including funding and accreditation bodies.
- Ensure the appropriate management of risks and issues arising in the course of service management in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Drive innovation in service delivery to maximise outcomes for children and young people and working closely with the Regional Director to explore business opportunities.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree within Human Services or a related discipline
- Current drivers’ licence
- Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of Out of Home Care / Child Protection Services.
- Demonstrated experience in carer retention and carer growth activities
- Working knowledge of the NSW Permanency Support Program
- Ability to manager services and programs within an operational budget
- Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
