About the Role

Based in Hurstville you will support 4 people with disability who enjoy listening to music, talking about sports (cricket in particular) and engaging with their local community. To provide best support, the successful candidate will have experience in personal care, manual handling and modified foods and an understanding of mental health and schizophrenia.

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.

Successful candidates must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours per fortnight across a 24/7 roster which may include a mix of shifts across the week (including active overnights and shorter 4 hours shifts).

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with psychosocial disability or mental health concerns
  • Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance.
