About the role
We are seeking a dedicated leader to join our Sydney North West Family Based Care team as an Area Manager.
In this role you will lead and mentor a team of Case Managers and Manager Caseworks to ensure quality, evidence-based support is provided to meet the safety and wellbeing needs of Children and Young People within our care. You will play a key role in the delivery of service contracts and provide meaningful input into the planning, development, growth, and execution of services delivered by Life Without Barriers.
This is a Full Time, Maximum Term contract position, until Mid-December 2025. You will be based at our Baulkham Hills office, with flexible hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements available. Regular travel throughout the Sydney West region is a requirement of this role, and an annualised vehicle allowance is included in the remuneration package.

Key Responsibilities
- Model and lead the required work environment, culture, systems and processes necessary to embed standards, behaviours and practices consistent with the values, work health and safety, policy & legislative requirements and pillars of practice.
- Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members.
- Drive innovation in service delivery to maximise outcomes for children and young people.
- Manage the delivery of client services through Child, Youth & Family teams and ensure the local area complies with corporate policies & processes, the Strategic Plan, business plan and the relevant statutory regulations, funding agreements and accreditation standards.
- Ensure the appropriate management of risks and issues arising in the course of service management in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain and develop positive working relationships with key external stakeholders and partners, including funding and accreditation bodies.
- Ensure the Local region operates within the approved budget.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree within Human Services or a related discipline
- Current drivers’ licence
- Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of Out of Home Care / Child Protection Services
- Working knowledge of the NSW Permanency Support Program
- Ability to manager services and programs within an operational budget
- Demonstrated experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and to deliver high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
