About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Disability Services Tasmania, ACT/Riverina and Sydney Lifestyles, this permanent full-time role will manage 6 x Disability Support Leaders overseeing the provision of our lifestyles support program across Sydney.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to affect positive culture change and be a strong motivator who is driven by the opportunity to uplift and grow the lifestyles program and profile within Life Without Barriers.
You will be an experienced leader who cultivates positive culture in fast-paced, complex environments and prioritises a person-centred and active support approach to drive positive outcomes for the people we support.
Our lifestyles program is widely spread across all of Sydney (including Northern Beaches, North Sydney, Western Sydney, Sutherland Shire and Southern Suburbs), providing support to people with various disabilities in their own homes and so, this role can be based flexibly in Sydney with hybrid work from home arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Disability Support Leaders and Disability Support Workers
- Lead, manage and embed systems, processes, and procedures to ensure high quality and responsive services that meet the needs of the people we support
- Influence change within the community on behalf of people we support and their families to support inclusion and participation
- Provide local leadership in the implementation, monitoring, and review of safeguarding practices
- Manage all aspects of programmatic budget responsibilities
- Provide support and advice on complex client needs, service delivery issues, critical incident response and complaints management
Skills & Experience
- Experience managing complex teams within a disability service setting
- Ability to drive cultural change in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong leadership skills aligned with the Life Without Barriers values
- Demonstrated ability to manage services and programs within a budget
- Understanding of the SCHADS award and relevant rostering provisions
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage complaints, risks and critical matters
- Knowledge of and experience in managing a lifestyles service highly regarded
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
