About the role

This opportunity presents a demanding yet deeply fulfilling prospect for you to provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.

We have 2 maximum term part time positions available within our Lifestyle Program in Broken Hill.  

Part Time Position 1 (43 hours per fortnight):

Week 1:

Monday: 9:00 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–1:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:30 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Wednesday: 9:30 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 1:00PM–3:00 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM & 5:00–7:00 PM

Sunday: 4:30 PM–6:30 PM

Week 2:

Monday: 9:00 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–1:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:30 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Wednesday: 9:30AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 1:00PM–3:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

 

Part Time Position 2 (39.5 hours per fortnight):

Week 1:

Monday: 9:30 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Wednesday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Thursday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM–11:00 AM

Week 2:

Monday: 9:00 AM–11:00 AM & 11:00 AM–2:00 PM

Tuesday: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM

Wednesday: 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Saturday: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 5:00 PM–7:00 PM

Sunday: 11:00 AM–1:00 PM & 5:00 PM–7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for clients facing behaviours of concern and complex needs with the ability to remain calm and supportive during unpredictable situations utilising de-escalation techniques
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow person centred support plans whilst maintaining flexibility to the circumstances and preferences of each client you support whether it be within their home or out in the community
  • Offer opportunities for choice, self-expression, and active involvement across all facets of our daily care services
  • Empowering clients to find their strengths and build their capacity to live independently
  • Provide support with personal care tasks, such as bathing and dressing

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with complex disability support needs including non-verbal, de-escalations and behaviours of concerns will be highly regarded.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificates as per NDIS requirements

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS and Working with Children Checks (where relevant to the role).
