About the role
Life Without Barriers is looking for a Senior Intake Lead to join our new Forced Marriages Specialist Support Program (FMSSP). This new program provides specialised support to individuals affected by or at risk of forced marriages. In this role, you will manage the intake process, lead a dedicated team, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that clients receive the appropriate services and support.
The purpose of the Senior Intake Lead is to oversee the administrative and operational functions of the Intake Team within National Immigration Support Service (NISS). The incumbent will develop, lead and maintain engagement strategies, as well as fostering positive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including clients, service providers, government agencies, and community organisations.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Sunshine (VIC) or Parramatta (NSW) with work from home flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage task allocation and workflow management to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Establish issues on a day-to-day basis, handling commonly occurring situations or cases within an area of practice, and reporting regularly to the Operations Manager.
- Actively engage community members and organisations to identify complexity and vulnerabilities relevant to the intake process
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the Intake team and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Enable team members to conduct Intake Assessments through intake interviews with clients, gathering relevant personal, medical, and social information to assess their needs, eligibility for services, and immediate support requirements.
- Participate in community awareness activities to promote understanding and prevention of Forced Marriages
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions, assessments, and referrals in accordance with organisational policies, confidentiality agreements, and legal requirements.
- Support and advocate for clients as needed, ensuring their needs are communicated to relevant parties to address their identified barriers.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in the health or welfare field and/or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience of leading a team in a human services organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing positive developmental relationships, building trust with individuals, families and stakeholders.
- Extensive case coordination experience in the Human Services sector, including conducting assessments.
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals, families, and groups using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach.
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and delivering high quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
- Highly developed analytical, audit, and remediation skills applicable to case management practice.
- Working knowledge of the relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility.
- Current Drivers Licence.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
