About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker you will provide tailored, individual support to people with disabilities in both home and community settings, as well as in our Shared Independent Living environment.

We have a permanent part time positions of 9 hours per week or 13 hours per week available in Bunbury.

The successful candidate for 9 hours per week will be able to commit to shifts on Mondays from 9am to 1pm and Wednesdays from 8:30am to 1:30pm. You will provide support a male who enjoys cooking and visiting shops in his local community.

The successful candidate for 13 hours per week will be able to commit to shifts on Tuesdays from 9am to 4pm and Fridays from 9am to 3pm. You will provide support to a female client who enjoys going out for coffee and breakfast and regularly attends art groups and physiotherapy. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support people with disability in their daily living tasks
  • Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing) and manual handling
  • Implement person-centred active support and follow behaviour support plans
  • Support clients during mealtime routines to promote independence and safety
  • Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed, coordinated support

Skills & Experience

  • Cert III Individual Support or similar
  • Passionate about providing active support
  • Experience working with people with complex needs and behaviours
  • Confidence in working 1:1 with clients and managing complex situations and behaviours
  • An unrestricted Western Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

To be considered for this role, you will need to undergo probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant).
