About the Role

Based in Macleod you will support 4 people with disability who enjoy accessing the community, going out and socialising and having a Disco every Thursday. To provide best support, the successful candidate will have previous experience supporting people who are nonverbal, working with behaviours of concern and confidence in providing personal care.

Joining our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team on a permanent part time basis, you will support people with disability to live their best lives in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

The successful candidate must be able to commit to the set roster line below. Which is a Roster Split of 31:30/27:45. A detailed roster is available upon request.

  • Week 1: Sun 4-8:30pm, Thu 2:30-8pm and Fri 7-10:30am
  • Week 2: Sun 7am – 3:30pm and Mon, Thur & Fri 7-10:30am
  • Week 3: Tue 9:30am – 1pm and Wed 7-10:30am
  • Week 4: Sun 7:00am – 3:30pm, Mon 2:15-8:30pm and Thur & Fri 7-10:30am

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Disability, Community Welfare or Similar
  • Experience working with people who are non-verbal
  • Confidence in providing personal care
  • Previous experience working with behaviours of concern
  • Understanding of behaviour support plans
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check, obtaining an NDIS Clearance and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years
