About the role
We are expanding our services in the mid-west and will be opening a children's residential care home in Carnarvon. The house will care for up to 5 young people who will be supported in a 24/7 support model via live-in carers and Residential Support Workers who will be overseen by a local Program Manager.
As the Program Manager, in addition to staff management responsibilities, you will be responsible for liaising with the department, local communities and allied health providers and ensuring the young people are safe, thriving and meeting their care plans.
This position would suit someone who is passionate about leading and developing a team that is providing a safe and nurturing environment to children and young people in Out of Home Care, using a trauma-informed approach. Familiarity with the CARE framework would be beneficial though full training will be provided if you are not familiar with the framework.
This position is based out of our new home in Carnarvon and is being offered as permanent full time.
Note: you must be based in Carnarvon or willing to relocate to be considered for the position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, motivate and manage a team of approximately 10 staff
- Ensure delivery of services in accordance with budget, client needs and care plans
- Ensure a consistent standard of quality is delivered for program in accordance with regulations prescribed in relevant legislation and funding standards.
- Manage risks and issues arising in the course of service management
- Contribute positively to strategies relating to Compliance, Cultural Confidence, Practice Improvement, Carer Support, Transition Planning.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management.
- Experience working with individuals, families or communities from a strength-based, culturally appropriate perspective.
- Demonstrated experience working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- A commitment to the care and protection of clients.
- Demonstrated understanding of impact of trauma and attachment on children and young people and complex behaviours (not essential but highly regarded, training provided)
- Demonstrated ability to manage services and programs within a budget.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check and DCP395.
