About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will provide safe, nurturing, and supportive care for children and young people in our residential settings. You’ll act as a positive role model and help young people develop essential life skills and build confidence.
To provide the best possible support to the children and young people in our care, it is important that our Youth Workers demonstrate strong flexibility, with the ability to work a variety of shifts - including days, evenings, weekends, overnights, and sleepovers.
Key Responsibilities

Build safe, trusting relationships with children and young people through active engagement.

Be a positive adult role model and encourage involvement in meaningful activities.

Promote positive relationships with family members, peers, and support networks.

Support family visits and connection where appropriate.

Empower young people to actively participate in decisions about their daily lives and activities.

About You
To be considered for paid employment as a Youth Worker in Queensland, you must:

Have completed (or be actively working toward) a relevant qualification – minimum Certificate IV. Not sure if your qualification is eligible? Check: peakcare.org.au

Hold an Unrestricted Driver's Licence (essential)

Hold or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid & CPR certificate

Be committed to child safety, trauma-informed practice, and inclusion

Reference Checks – Focused on working with children and young people

National Police Check – Paid for by LWB
