About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. We have roles available in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Lifestyle Supports.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.
Lifestyle Supports are one-on-one supporting individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short, split shifts required.
We are currently looking to fill 5 permanent part time positions. We have a variety of lines available, starting from 15 hours up to 60 hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Get involved in feel-good activities at home and out in the community
- Full personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing and grooming
- Engage in watching weekly sporting events – big tick if you are an AFL fan!
- Support clients to make everyday spaces shine through domestic assistance
- Confidently support clients with complex needs, including physical and verbal behaviours of concern
- Follow behaviour management and mealtime management plans
- Encourage community participation - 1 on 1 support within the community
Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting behaviours of concern and/or complex needs
- Ability to drive a large van for client transportation
- An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
