About the role

The southern Tasmania team is looking to engage Disability Support Workers to work with our clients at our respite service in Oatlands, in the southern midlands area.  The Disability Support Workers provide support with activities of daily living, including personal care, and developing, implementing and monitoring Individual Plans.  We are looking for candidates local to the Oatlands community, or who are willing to travel to Oatlands to provide support.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and positive behaviour support plans
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III Individual Support desirable, but not essential
  • Ability to learn and work within a positive behaviour support framework
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including a National Criminal History Record Check, Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People Registration and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
