About the Role

Actively support the individual needs of frail and aged who access our Community Care Services across the Brisbane North region. This position is due to growth in the area, and you will support multiple clients per day across Ashgrove, Bald Hills, Chermside, Mitchelton and surrounds. You must be willing to travel up to 30 minutes as required. We have casual opportunities, with flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle, and the hours can be based between school hours if required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Housekeeping duties
  • Washing clothing including hanging out to dry, folding and ironing of clothes
  • Changing of bed linen as required
  • Assist the client with community access 
  • Manual handling 
  • You may be required to assist with showering, bathing, medications, eating, toileting, grooming and any personal care needs as identified in their Care Plan

  Skills & Experience

  • A current unrestricted drivers licence and a reliable vehicle with minimum 3rd party insurance
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Prior experience supporting working in the community with ageing clients is highly regarded
  • The ability to develop positive relationships with the clients and to support their individual care plans as appropriate
  • Good communication skills

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).

To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process.
