About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability. We are looking for Disability Support Workers for casual and Permanent Part Time roles in the South East region.

The houses are based in Cheltenham, Aspendale, Frankston and Cranbourne and shifts are available across all houses. We request applications from candidates willing to work across the 4 houses mentioned.  

These houses have varied support and would require you to have a good understanding of managing Behaviours of Concern, high support needs and mental health issues

There are mixed shifts available including morning, afternoon, active nights and sleepover shifts.

You will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients with their wellbeing in line with their support needs/preferences
  • Provide day to day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Assist clients to explore and participate in Community activities
  • Maintain & monitor client centred plans
  • Documenting & Progress Note keeping
  • Consistently establish rapport and collaborate effectively with service users and their families to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Skills & Experience

  • Valid Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
  • Certificate III in Community Welfare, Disability or similar
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience in providing complex behaviour support

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and relevant NDIS Clearances.  Also a Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
