About the Role

Based at our Supported Independent Living setting’s (with potential for shifts in our day programs) in Wollongong, you will play an important role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live independently in the community and to achieve their individual goals.

We are seeking Disability Support Workers with previous experience working with adults in Supported Independent Living settings to join our team on a Casual basis, with Permanent Part Time positions available for suitable candidates.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with clients who display challenging behaviours and be available for up to 20 hours per week across a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, active night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistance with clients daily living (including personal care)
  • Participation in activities of daily living
  • Assisting Clients with Community access and transport
  • Maintaining and monitoring person-centred plans
  • Following individual support plans and behaviour support plans where required
  • Documentation and progress note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
  • Driver's license 
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience working with clients who display challenging behaviours
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster
  • Ability to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
