About the role 
This permanent part-time position in Elwood involves helping 1 male and 2 females with disability with activities of daily living including behaviour support, personal care and manual handling.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a disability support worker and be confident in working with behaviours of concern, providing personal care and manual handling including transfers.

The people being supported have varied interests including painting, drawing, beauty, watching TV and getting out and about with friends and so, the ideal candidate will have a creative streak and be passionate about providing active support.

• Week 1: Wed, Thu and Fri 7 -10:30am
• Week 2: Mon 3:30-9pm, Tue & Thu 5:30-9pm, Fri 7-10:30am and Sat 8:30am – 1:30pm
• Week 3: Sun 8:30am-5pm and Tue, Thu & Fri 7-10:30am
• Week 4: Sun 9am – 1pm, Mon 2-8pm, Tue 5:30-9m, Fri 7-10:30am and Sat 1-9pm

Key responsibilities: 

• Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
• Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
• Maintain thorough record keeping
• Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
• Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

• Experience with behaviour support plans
• Previous experience in manual handling
• Confidence and experience in providing personal care
• A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities.
• The ability to develop a positive relationship with clients and to support their Individual Personal Plan.
• Cert IV in Disability or similar
• A current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate.
• A current unrestricted Driver Licence and willingness to drive a company van.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and an International Criminal History Record Check; if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia in the last 10 years.
