About the Role

We are currently recruiting for Residential Youth Support Workers to join our team in the Greater Hobart Area. This will be a rewarding opportunity for you to make a change in Children and Young Person's lives. 

This is a hands-on Permanent Part-Time or Casual role, with most time spent in the house or participating in recreational activities. You will be working directly with children and young people, the positions are based in a 24/7 Residential Setting with fortnightly rotating shift rosters.

We will be hosting an Assessment Centre at our Hobart Office on the Wednesday 28th August 2024 at 4:30pm - 7:30pm. Level 2/175 Collins St, Hobart TAS 7030.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day care, supervision and transport to children and young people
  • Actively participate in activities and increase competencies of young people
  • Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships
  • Develop, implement and monitor individual plans 
  • Actively support the child/young person to develop and maintain social skills
  • Maintenance of progress notes and report writing

 Skills & Experience

  • Certificate 4 in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, or similar.
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to complete prior to commencement 
  • A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence 
  • Ability to work various shifts (sleepover & active nights) throughout the week
  • Prior knowledge and/or experience working with young people, people with a disability and/or vulnerable persons 

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Vulnerable People check
